Janet Simmonds
Ms. Simmonds earned her Bachelor's Degree from Rice University, a Master’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology from San Francisco State University, and her J.D. with a concentration in Family Law from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
Prior to joining Sucherman-Insalaco, Ms. Simmonds practiced family law in Santa Clara County. Before becoming a member of the California Bar, Ms. Simmonds externed for Commissioner Marjorie A. Slabach of the Unified Family Court in San Francisco, and also worked at the Family Law Facilitator’s office in San Francisco and the San Francisco District Attorney’s Elder Abuse Unit. She also volunteered for the Asian Law Caucus Immigration Clinic and the Riley Center, which provide services to victims of domestic violence.
In law school, Ms. Simmonds worked as a research assistant to Family Law Professor D. Kelly Weisberg. She also was a contributing author and the Executive Articles Editor of the Hastings Women’s Law Journal.
